The Name “Big Daddy” Somehow Fits……
Written by: Kim Sawyer
What do you say about a man who has 86 wives and fathered 170 children?
Nigerian Mohammed Bello Abubakar, 84, has advised other men not to follow his example and marry 86 women. He says his wives have sought him out because of his reputation as a healer. According to Mr. Abubakar, “A man with 10 wives would collapse and die, but my own power is given by Allah. That is why I have been able to control 86 of them. I don’t go looking for them, they come to me. I will consider the fact that God has asked me to do it and I will just marry them. To my understanding, the Koran does not place a limit and it is up to what your own power, your own endowment and ability allows. God did not say what the punishment should be for a man who has more than four wives, but he was specific about the punishment for fornication and adultery.”
Now, from the viewpoint of the one of the wives:
- “As soon as I met him the headache was gone. God told me it was time to be his wife. Praise be to God. I am his wife now. I am now the happiest woman on earth. When you marry a man with 86 wives you know he knows how to look after them.”
Let me just say, I have no comment. What about you?

One wife is enuff trouble for any man. Course over there they know better than to run off at the mouth. Maybe that’s the answer.

Where is the country where a woman can have more than one husband? My sister always said, it takes about three men to get one good man!

The thing that got my attention about this is what the woman said. For good, bad or otherwise, people can always say God told them to do something. I just don’t buy it all the time. From the pulpit to the wrong end of a sniper rifle, I just don’t know if God is doing all of this. To have some tell it, God is even basing blessings on how many people we forward certain emails to. For me, the sum total equals me not believing everything I hear or see.
PS. This guy could probably have one of his wives walk right by him on the street and he wouldn’t know who she was. I wouldn’t even want to go through 86 wedding ceremonies.

Women don’t need more than one husband. If they can’t obey one how do you expect them to obey two?

Wedding vows are such a huge element of a marriage ceremony. For my wedding, I depended on an impressive wedding vow guidebook to get that significant task finished and I was nevertheless happy with the final results!
