This is obviously coming from someone who is ignorant. She is ignorant because she doesn’t know that these kinds of comments DO happen. She shows this when she asks, “What is that?” Well, just because she hasn’t heard something like that before doesn’t make Michelle “trash.” The person who should be viewed negatively is the person making the statement to Michelle and now the person commenting on the Youtube video.

Maybe we aren’t used to someone in such a position speaking freely, but I see nothing wrong with what the first lady said. It seems like everything that goes on in the white house is being scrutinized differently. Hmmm.

We need to be tolerant of the differences others may have from us. How boring would things be if we were all the same? Just because someone is different from us doesn’t make them bad or “trash!” That should be a fundamental lesson learned by all of us at an early age.

I think the trash in the White House comment was rude and unnecessary. I understand what she was trying to say but she did a terrible job of conveying it. I do think it was kind of an odd thing for Michelle to say in her position as first lady but she is young and very inexperienced so I think expecting her to never make mistakes is asking a lot. I did agree that trash can be defined as those who sit around expecting others to take care of them and that they come in all colors and walks of life.

When I listened to this, it brought to mind that old saying in the Black community: “It’s a Black thing, you wouldn’t understand.” That’s how I feel about Tammy Bruce’s reaction to Michelle’s comment. When Michelle said people would tell her she talks like a White person because she spoke proper English, what Tammy Bruce doesn’t realize is that is this is very common in the Black community – for people to say something so ridiculous. Is it right? Heck no, but it happens. Michelle didn’t mean anything by it and for Tammy Bruce to call her trash for saying something like that, well that just lets me know, Tammy has no clue about what some Black children have to endure when they try to excel in school, in an en environment where it might not be the most important thing to do. Does that make sense? I kinda rambled on here.

That was a ugly statement and one that I did-not like.

Hi Ann, I agree with you 100%. It was definitely uncalled for.

Well, the topic of the Michelle Obama ideas about music is really a burning question. Her thinking is noteworthy contribution to this modern spreading of music art. We have to watch it carefully. Although I do not agree with every things of Michelle Obama, but all in all I am agreeing to this realistic approach of pop music. I am looking forward to forthcoming updates from Michelle, which probably brings some more music.
