If you didn't see it, go online and watch it. It was about this. A mother had three sons. One had Autism, the baby son wasn't vaccinated, and the other one got the measles and died. She refused to vaccinate the baby because she swears and declares the vaccination gave the other son Autism. After the one child died, the doctor strode right pass the disagreeing mother and gave the baby the vaccination against the mother's will. My real comment here is, OMG! Can you say sexy! When he strode (not walked, it was much more powerful) pass her and, as the care provider he took an oath to be, took matters into his own hands, it had such a great impact on me! That was TV. In real life I'm sure he would have gotten sued. Oh… but was that manly take chargeness sexy! Some require more than one dose to be effective. Several studies completed in the US and Europe have concluded that there is no link between vaccines and autism. Rather, autism is much better understood today than 20 years ago and in fact, children are more likely to have a diagnosis on the Autism Spectrum Disorder today (which includes Aspergers). In the past they would have been diagnosed with ADD, mental retardation, or just labeled weird. We don't know what causes autism but there seems to be a genetic component. Fathers over age 40 seem to be more likely to have children with autism--sor t of like the risk for Down's babies among mothers over 35. As a non-medical person, I wonder if current or past illicit drug use and/or excessive alcohol use on the part of one or both parents contributes as well.
