Tyra Banks Wins An Emmy For Her Talk Show
Written by: Kim Sawyer
Yesterday, the Tyra Banks Show won the first ever Daytime Emmy for informative talk show. This was made possible because new categories were created for the Daytime Emmys. By creating an informative talk show category, the Tyra Banks Show didn’t have to compete with Regis Philbin, Kelly Rippa, Ellen DeGeneres or the ladies from The View for outstanding talk show host. Personally, I am very happy for Miss Tyra. I think she has evolved into an astue business woman, as well as a decent talk show host.
If you all remember, Tyra began her career as a model, then became a supermodel. In 2005, she retired from modeling at the ripe, young age of 32 — two years after she launched the now renowned America’s Next Top Model. In 2005, the Tyra Banks show premiered and has evolved into a decent talk show. I have to admit that initially, I didn’t care for the show simply because I thought she was imitating Oprah’s style too much. But that shouldn’t be too suprising since Oprah is her “inspiration.”
Over these past three years, Tyra has come into her own and I applaud her on her success. Just like Oprah was an inspiration to her, she has become an inspiration to others. She isn’t even 40 yet, and she has had major success in three different career fields: Model, Producer and now Talk Show Host. Now I know there are some people who are like, yeah, yeah, so what. But come on now, you gotta admit Miss Tyra has accomplished a lot – don’t you agree?
