I took a plane ride with her about 10 years before she died and had an opportunity to talk to her about the changes in her lifetime. To start out in a covered wagon and end up in a jet is simply mind boggling. Her father lived with her for many years and I was blessed to spend a lot of time with him as a child. He had an incredible imagination and actually wrote a "fictional' story of space travel that I still have. I remember watching the first space launch and wishing he had lived a little longer so he could have seen his story come to life. It was heart warming to see the number of people that love our father and wanted celebrate his 75 years! There were many there from the city but there were many, many from out of town as far as California and Connecticut. This speaks highly of our dad. And then at the last second, so to speak, my son, the other birthday boy walked in and surprised us all! That was the icing on the cup cake!
