Kent/Ryan,

I have two points.

1. I think it is laughable how people conveniently talk about current and past Democratic presidents, but skip over Republican presidents. I guess that would make you a Republican - publicly or in private. You (Kent) mentioned Carter, Clinto and BHO (I like that) in terms of making money, but I think Bush, and his family (Rice included), made more than all of them combined in the last 8 years. I believe that the Bush family was and still is making money every time the price goes up at the pump. Also, regardless of which side of the aisle you are on, you should be outraged when a president lies to us and sends young men and women in search of weapons that don't exist - a trip that has resulted in many lost lives. It is totally despicable and something that shouldn't be overlooked.

2. I think there should be more comments concerning this picture. This is flat out racist and I think the end result will be sweeping this under the rug. People like this should be trotted out on the white house lawn and publicly questioned. We have enough problems, we don't need things like this in our country right now.
.-= Tom Sawyer´s last blog ..Seriously?!!!! =-.
Reply

Hi Ryan and Kent,

@Kent, As soon as I read your comment, I thought about how Ryan would be in total agreement with you.:--) I think both of you are providing information that may be unknown to some of 7DayBuzz readers - and that's great! Our goal here, at 7dayBuzz, is to be informative, on all sorts of topics. Some people may not agree with the information that you two are providing, but that's okay. If it is opening their eyes to certain things, that's all that matters. I know for me, I am (and have learned) things from Ryan, and now you Kent. I will continue to look at everything objectively about BHO. I am not in agreement with certain things he's done thus far, but it's still early in the game. We'll see.

@KentSmith -
Kent,

What a wonderful response and as I'm sure it will be no surprise to Kim, I am in complete agreement with you. I hate to always change topics as this response will move away from race which is the topic at hand but I would like to say a couple of things.

I should thank our President for one thing. It is indeed his bad policies and actions that has motivated me to spend more time educating myself on the history of our great country. I have only just begun researching, reading, and studying our history but it is the reality that everything our country stands for is at risk. I have friends in Europe and have the utmost respect for them but we are not Europe yet it seems like our President is dead set on turning us into Europe.

I won't keep rambling but again, I enjoyed your response and thank you for taking the time to compose it.

this is the first time I have seen this picture of the Presidents
this is not acceptable by anyone.
I do not like BHO. I beleive He will damage our country for years with what
he has done so far, not to mention what will be done in 4 years.
Whether one is black, white or purple, philosophy , logic, and thought matters.
The people who founded our country gave up everything they had for the
freedom of the people who had much less than they. Read the history of
those who signed the Declaration of Independance and what they gave up
in personal sacrifice, wealth, family, property for the freedom of the nation.

This President is not a President of the people. (to the surprise of many)
He is a President of the Idology, the thought that the little guy needs
the government to survive and pay for everything and take care of all our needs
is his basic philosophy. But He is on the inside. It is all about power.
Chicago politics at a national level.
I have questioned for years, why do guys
like Castro, Putin, Kim Jung Il have all the goodies in their countries and the people
have nothing? Because the state owns everything.

The most basic right given to us by GOD, through the constitution is the right of
individual property ownership. We have the right to own our own land, store,
business, corner of the street, to make our dreams happen. By our own effort and
invenstment we can create our goals and dreams. Succeed or fail, it is our own effort
and dream that will make or break us. What most of us don't do is
commit to our dreams. Most people in the world work only for the state or government
they live under.
WE are different.
But BHO is taking us to a place we have never been.
Did you own stock in GM or Chrysler? You don't now. What about stock in AIG, you don't
now. What's next? banks, insurance companies, car dealers, other local business? The right of the individual to own his own property is being usurped for the precevied common good, and it is not good for the common man. it is only good for those on the inside. Richard Daly, BHO, Rhahm, Timmy G, previous politico's......Bush, Clinton (made millions since he left office) Jimmy Carter (why is he so involved in the Mid East? Payday from the Saudi's?), Senators who want cash and worship. All on the inside.

BHO is taking us to a place where individual rights are subject to the collective idea and the state welfare is more valued than the freedom of the individual. How much would you give up for your
neighbors freedom? Spend time to look at what the "signers" gave up for your freedom.
It all started with an Idea. Thought of freedom. Keep the thought alive for yourself and your
neighbor. We can and will keep our freedom by our own effort, but we must remember, freedom is not free, the cost could be great.
Those who signed, lost everything, and died for freedom were not thinking about themselves,
the were thinking about those who would come after them. YOU and ME.
May GOD give us the courage, strength, and commitmet to put freedom for everyone above
our own personal interest.
Reply

This is the first I've heard of either of these instances and I of course find them senseless and inexcusable. I do also feel that comments made by a supreme court nominee were senseless and inexcusable as well.

There are so many things people could focus on with the wide array of policies Obama is putting into place, why even bring race into it? I just don't get the ignorance of some people.

I was born in 1981. With that considered I didn't live through the disgraceful hours(Racism and Inequality) of our country. I recently had the opportunity as I was doing some research for a blog post (dissecting President Obama's commencement speech) to read something that all Americans should read. Whether black, white, brown, or purple you need to take twenty minutes to read "The Letter to Birmingham" I've always known that Martin Luther King was a very bright man but reading this letter highlights just how brilliant the man was.

If you haven't read it, you can find it here: http://www.bu.edu/irsd/Ec326_2004/material_2004/Letter%20from%20Birmingham%20Jail.htm
Reply
