President Obama is the “Joker?”

Written by: Kim Sawyer

“When will this ever end? When will people stop trying to make it seem like it’s “scary” that Barack Obama is now president? Look at the picture to your left and honestly tell me this isn’t meant to instill fear. This is soooooooooooo below-the-belt! Unsurprisingly, FoxNews.com has it on their site. Whatever………………

Get over it you anti-Obamaites! He’s your president for the next four years. Attempts at slandering him, by any means necessary, is really juvenile. As far as the posters go, as of today, it is not known who is producing and distributing these idiotic posters.   This is so lame!

Mob rule. Mob + a crypto-plausible leader = fascism. I think fascism is getting to its feet. Hope I’m wrong.

Really?!!!! Before I respond, here’s what dictionary.com defines facism as:

“a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.”

So, you see President Obama as a dictator? Also, when does he or when has he ever suppressed opposition and criticsim (forcibly or otherwise)? If anyone was trying to suppress criticism, it was President Bush and Cheney. Remember when, right after 9-11, if anyone voiced their disagreement with the war, they were anti-America? Remember the Dixie Chicks were ostricized for doing that and their music was burned in protest? When has this ever happened with President Obama?

What I see is that he’s been criticized from day one. Sometimes I agree with the criticism and sometimes I don’t (like this picture).

Okay. Yeah, it seems they are really on the attack now. Especially since the Gates fiasco.

Kim, I love every spirit inspired word you wrote here! It is a shame and you represented that sentiment well! Good post.

    Hi!
I think anywhere in this world, there is certain group of people who love their current leader and certain group who hate him. Its up to the leader on how to tackle such situation.
    See you around.

  8. Kim Sawyer Says:

@lunaticg – Hi lunaticq. Welcome to 7DayBuzz. Thanks for commenting.

I see your point, but I ask, how does one tackle strong hatred?

  9. Ryan Kazinec Says:

This double standard is really starting to irritate me. Is the poster inappropriate? Yes, as it was when Bush was under attack. This two party system is going to be the demise of this once great nation.

  10. Kim Sawyer Says:

@Ryan Kazinec – Where’s the double standard? Just like Obama supporters are upset about the Obama poster, Busher supporters were upset about the Bush poster.

This is some of the verbage that is on the link you sent: “Some conservatives, however, said the image was disrespectful and went too far. ” Doesn’t this quote show that people spoke up about how the poster was inappropriate?

Again I ask, where’s the double standard?

  11. Ryan Kazinec Says:

Double Standard? Was there any outrage when the horrific portrayals of Bush were published, printed, and displayed on angry protesters signs? I certainly don’t remember any outrage. Correct me if I’m wrong. Were you disgusted over the same horrible signs portraying Bush as hitler, satan, and in a noose?

The double standard is the inability to so much as criticize this president without being a hater, a racist, or a bigot. The Obama administration and high ranking Democrats have labeled and called out tea party attendees and most recently those attending health care town hall meetings as “astro turf” racists who carry swastikas. I have attended two tea parties and I’m getting sick and tired of the insults thrown our way. I didn’t attend the tea parties because I’m being paid by an organization, a group, or an individual, I attended them because I am sick and tired of government spending, government involvement in my life, and the abuse of power that has grown year after year in the US government. My reasons stretch beyond that but how did Bush react when protesters showed up in force to protest the war? From what I remember he said that was their right to Freedom of Speech and didn’t label them as bigots or racists. Again, correct me if I’m wrong.

  12. Kim Sawyer Says:

You didn’t answer my question. I quoted you a quote where Conversatives DID speak up about the posters. So, there was “outrage.”

As far as was I disgusted about Bush’s portrayal as hitler, satan and in a noose? I’m always on the side of speaking up with someone goes too far, so yeah.

When has Obama EVER went against the right to Freedom of Speech? You mention the Obama administration and high ranking Democrats calling tea party attendees “astro turf” racists. Well didn’t Bush’s right hand man, Cheney, call people who spoke out against the war “unpatriotic?” What happened to Freedom of Speech there? Just because they were against the war, they didn’t love their country?! Sorry, I don’t buy it! I mean, just look at what happened to the Dixie Chicks who spoke out against the war. They were ostracized! By Bush supporters! So, you have it on both sides!

  13. Ryan Kazinec Says:

Answer to your question: Key word is SOME. Why wasn’t there mass disgust over those images? How come I hadn’t seen or heard of the images of Bush until now?(I know you can’t answer this one, it’s rhetorical) It’s great that some officials within the republican party spoke up but by no means was there an uproar.

I wasn’t questioning Obama on Freedom of Speech but since you mentioned it. Pay close attention to the cyber bullying act. If it eventually makes it to his desk we’ll see where he stands on Freedom of Speech until then it’s speculation.

You make a valid point in regards to Cheney as long as he really said that, which I can believe. (Precisely why I said correct me if I’m wrong) Cheney isn’t my favorite person in the world with his ties to haliburton (probably spelled that wrong) along with many other things I’ve heard.

In regards to the Dixie chicks: They were ostracized and in my opinion rightfully so for one specific reason, they were over seas. If they had done this here at home and not in front of an anti-bush, anti-American crowd they wouldn’t have seen such a fallout. Freedom of Speech is a natural right but it does come with some responsibility. The Dixie Chicks exercised very bad judgement in there use of Freedom of Speech. Let’s also note that they didn’t break any laws but we all have to use solid judgement in what we say. Even if we aren’t breaking the law we certainly may see some ill effects from the words we say as the Dixie Chicks learned.

  14. Kim Sawyer Says:

@Ryan Kazinec – I think if we have Freedom of Speech, we should be able to say what we want, even if some don’t like it or agree with it. So what it’s being said in another country? Like you said, as long as the person(s) who said it is not breaking any laws, like treason, don’t say, we, as Americans, have the right to Freedom of Speech, but oh by-the-way, there are restrictions that come along with it, like you can say it but only in America. Get out here. The key word here is FREE, meaning no restraints.

If Bush’s supporters didn’t show the outrage that Obama supporters are showing, whose fault is that? To me, that just means they didn’t have his back. Oh well. That is certainly not the fault of Obama supporters!

  15. Tom Sawyer Says:

    Ryan,

I have to say, regardless of race, Bush is a pure idiot! If you ask me, you can lump Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and other people of color in that group. Jesse Jackson’s “Nut cut motion” should place him in a shameful position for the rest of his life.

Answer this for me – and it may be a little off topic – why haven’t any groups stepped forward and voiced their opinion about the fact that Obama should be considered just as much a white president as he is a black president? Isn’t the fact that he is considered, without protest, the first black president and indication of racial relations in our country? Fifty percent black pushes you to the black side? Who made that decision?

  16. Kent Smith Says:

“Fifty percent black pushes you to the black side? Who made that decision?”
I have heard that you are considered Jewish if your mother is Jewish. If that rule applies here then by all accounts BHO should be considered white. White mom, raised by white grandparents but personally identified with his father. In this case he made the decision.
