Two types of weapons use pellets, a bb/pellet gun and shot guns, you can also buy snake or rat shot about the size of a .22 caliber bullet.
Reply

One of the articles I read said they removed "pellets" from the babysitter. And in the chaos of it, the little tyke shot another adult too! Both were fine but both had to have "pellets" removed. Shoot, I call them bullets!
Reply

How in the world is a 4 year old able to actually use a gun? What kind was it? I'm guessing it was loaded with one in the chamber and he could read the word safety and knew that he had to switch the lever to make it work? I'm shocked and impressed at the same time, I just can't wrap my mind around how a 4 year old is actually able to operate a hand gun when i know some adults who don't have a clue or the strength to even operate one. Don't even get me started on aiming....
Reply

OMG! I think there was more going on here. How did the kid know where to find a gun and how to use it? I think he has psych problems and a very dysfunctional home. It might help if our media didn't sensationalize all this horrible behavior.

Tom, morals are the one thing that seems to be consistently fading from our screwed up society and violence is taking over! If they piss you off, shoot ‘em! If they divorce you, shoot ‘em! If the baby cries too much, shake ‘em to death, hide them in the woods, and then don’t report it! My, my, my! How do, what appears to be normal people, turn into the monster they do? We live in a very “do as you want/express yourself” world. Unfortunately, that mentality tips the scale toward deranged these days. I remember my cousin telling me she was sitting at a stop light in Dayton, OH and she just kind of nonchalantly turned and looked in the car beside her only to find herself looking down the barrel of a gun! Are you serious!!! Needless to say, she looks straight ahead when sitting at stop lights these days!

Regarding the 4 year old, what's so sad is two things: the youngster knew exactly where to go to get the gun and the youngster is obviously headed into a life of anger and violence for him to become this upset over getting his toe stepped on! What in the world I ask are the parents teaching him? How is he seeing people interact in front of him? Lastly, why on earth was the gun within the reach of a 4 year old?

When I first heard about this story I was told that the parents are being charged with aggravated assault (I think that is the charge). This is probably a question for a whole other post but here is my question, at what age is the child responsible for his or hers action? I guess at 4 years old the parents have to stand accountable, but this four year old, apparently old beyond his years should get the beating of his life (oh settle down all those of you against spankings, he shot somebody!!!), time out for about six months, no play dates until the third grade, and definitely no cowboys and Indians movies!!

I think he needs to be triple teamed: Supernanny for his bad behavior, Dr. Phil for the obvious psychological issues, and TD Jakes to pray him through. I’d love to see where this child ends up in 14 years! I have made a few jokes here, but it is really sad. I’ve never heard of anything like it!
Reply

I remember the good ole day. Back in my first year of public schooling (7th grade) I was walking down the hall with some piping hot nachos I couldn't wait to dive into. As I was walking and about to take my first bite some guy walks right into me forcing me to drop my nachos. It wasn't a fair fight, he punched me before I could get my backpack off but the moral of the story is there was no guns, just fists, a broken nose(me) and a missing front tooth (him).

In regards to your story, this is a perfect example of IGNORANT a** parents. My wife and I have a gun right next to the bed (Glock 9mm) but I can tell you with the utmost certainty that the minute we're no longer alone and have kids it will be locked and unreachable for the kids. The parents are obviously to blame here. If I was the parents of the baby sitter I'd unleash legal hell.
