My pastor did a short series on music years ago and explained how consciously and subconsciously music gets into your spirit. It is the one thing that can impact us without us realizing it at all! It is important to consciously think about what you are listening to. The second thing that kind of goes along with that is, as I researched music to buy for my "about to be born" niece, I was shocked at the websites I went to and how very important it is to monitor what type of music is played for a baby. They even discouraged playing many types of what is sold in the stores as "baby music". Why? Again because of the affect music has on a person. We can call music music but we both know, there is a difference in genres of music and how they affect you. Wouldn't you be amazed if you walked up on your pastor listening to profanity filled rap or heavy metal right before he walked out to the pulpit to preach? With your theory, music is music, so is that alright? Well, I wouldn't want someone who is about to pour into my spirit having that in their spirit right before coming out to preach to me. But different strokes for different folks!
