Michael Jordan: Coldhearted? WHAT!!!!!!!!!!
Written by: Kim Sawyer
Michael Jordan. The name that everybody knows and recognizes. Some people feel he is the best NBA basketball player ever. Some people (well, women in particular) think he is gorgeous. Others may feel he is down-to-earth. There are so many adjectives that could be used to describe Michael Jordan, but cold-hearted would not be one of them — until now. I guess I should clarify and say Michael would only be described as cold-hearted if the following news article from the New York Post is to be believed:
“MICHAEL Jordan fouled out with a young boy who asked him for a picture last weekend. The NBA legend was spotted waiting for his valet-parked car outside of Kobe Club in Miami when the youth approached and told him how great he was, says our spy: “The boy told Michael he was wearing Jordan sneakers and asked him if he could snap his photo. Michael kept walking and got in his car, leaving the kid behind in tears. He was so upset he threw the disposable camera on the ground and broke it.” Jordan’s sports agent did not return a call or e-mail.”
Now, based on this article, how would you describe Michael? Before coming to a conclusion, here are some things to think about: maybe he was just in a rush or maybe he was so preoccupied with his thoughts, that he didn’t even see the kid. I don’t know. Well, I do know. I just don’t want to believe it. What about you? Do you think Michael Jordan would shun a kid who admires him? Inquiring minds want to know.

Whoever wrote this artice has no idea of what it’s like to be a big star. This kid was probably one of a hundred who had bugged Jordan that day. There is just no way posible to fulfill everyone’s request for a photograph.
I know someone is going to disagree with me, but I’ve accused of snubbing people before, but I was just so busy that I didn’t have time to stop and chat.

You are a piece of work! Could it also be that Jordan is a jerk who has been hiding behind a PR machine all these years? Don’t think for one minute that Jordan is above doing something like this; we put people on pedestals too much. Just because someone can shoot a basketball doesn’t mean they can do no wrong in other areas.

All the little boys that are now grown up are who made Michael Jordon who he is! How dare he! (Kim, I have seen him with hair, he was not gorgeous. If he was a regular Joe blow, would we still think him gorgeous? His height does draw attention but, as my mother-in-law says, other than that…)
Bottom line: IF YOU DON’T WANT TO DEAL WITH ADORING FANS, BE A TRASH MAN! Who cares how many kids bugged him that day, this is what happens when you make mega millions and when you sneeze and we have to hear about it on TV, on the radio, in the newspapers, in magazines! He put himself in the position to have to cope with being bugged! E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G in life comes with a price, some more than others. This is funny, just a few weeks back I was talking to someone, maybe on a post, can’t remember, but I was saying that Michael Jordon flew under the radar. He missed many calls because he didn’t lip off to the officials. He was nice and polite. He knew how to say the right thing at the right time. He smiled when he should smile, moved to the left when he was supposed to, moved to the right when it served him best, blah, blah, blah… but as the old school grandmothers used to say, if it looks too good to be true, it probably ain’t!
John, your comment: I know someone is going to disagree with me, but I’ve accused of snubbing people before, but I was just so busy that I didn’t have time to stop and chat. All I can say, as I often say, what if Jesus said that when you came to Him? I can’t call your spirituality or your Christianity but refer to my love article, and ponder this, Christians should NEVER put themselves in a position to be called snobs.
Michael was wrong. Y’all know he was probably chewing gum when he snubbed that little boy.

LOL on the comment “Y’all know he was probably chewing gum when he snubbed that little boy.” That’s funny.

Tom I am a total and complete work.
Now as for what I was trying to expain.
Until a person has lived with fame there is no way to explain the demands. People never stop to consider if your kid is sick, you and the old lady had an argument, if you are sick or whatever. Or if you are thinking about a $50 million deal, been on the phone all day, dealing with issues….
I realize you don’t understand Tom, but try and think outside the box. Don’t use just your life’s experiences when making conclusions. It’s unfair to you. Someone might mistake you for some hick from the sticks.

“Christians should NEVER put themselves in a position to be called snobs.”
IS THAT RIGHT MS KURRY???
Well do me a little favor and please EXPLAIN to me the following situation.
( I don’t evennnnnnnnnn know why you and Tommy boy don’t get the flavor of my drift.
And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. (Matthew 15:22)
But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. (Matthew 15:23)
But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. (Matthew 15:24)
Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. (Matthew 15:25)
But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. (Matthew 15:26)

LAWD I feel like I clicked my mouse and wound up in Mayberry RFD.
Aunt Bee: ” Andy, can you believe this heah John fella? He tryin to make us believe that somebody is so busy that they don’t have time to sign their name.
Andy: ” Why golly gee Aunt Bee. Ain’t that about the most nonsense you’ve ever heard? I bet he don’t get asked more than a hundred or two tiimes a day.
Aunt Bee: ” I know Andy. remember the time you and Barney caught that fella making moonshine in the courthouse basement and how all the people wanted your autograph?
Andy: Yeah I remember.I bet I signed 20 of them things that day. Almost half the town……”
June 28th, 2008 at 6:20 pm
John, what are you talking about? I would only want Jordan’s autograph to sell on ebay so he doesn’t mean that much to me anyway. Now, if it was Magic that would be different.
You can believe me now or realize I’m right later, but my only opinion was Michael Jordan is, or has never been, the guy the media makes him out to be. He has had a PR team mold an image of him that doesn’t tell the whole story.
If you think I’m one of those people who are so star-struck that don’t see what is going on you don’t know about me. Well, I know you don’t know about me anyway.
You complain about sports so much, I’m going to have to turn O loose on you. I think he would bring you down a peg or two.

ROFL!!! People like Mike. Not too many like Kobe…
Neither are savecd so I guess it matters not.
June 29th, 2008 at 11:48 am
I have told you before, the main reason I like Kobe is because he plays for the Lakers. One thing I find interesting is how on one hand you can say people shouldn’t judge Jordan because they don’t know what its like to be in his position, but then you criticize Kobe when according to a court he did nothing wrong. Yes, he cheated on his wife, but uh so has Mike.
Where is the article? You keep ignoring me.
June 29th, 2008 at 4:08 pm
I never mention anything about Kobe’s marital deal. Check the record…My feelings about him have nothing to do with that situationa at all. He ain’t done nuttin most men haven’t done…….Tom.
I’ll send you somthing soon. I’m kinda like Mike……busy.

John… wow. Your are so condoscending. And it is Curry, with a C. I guess the reason I can’t get your drift is because you can’t even read my last name and correctly pen it in your comments, so how can I possibly trust intellect to spew out with these ambiguous comments you make? The first scripture based comment??? The Mayberry comment??? Ok, called us country or hicks or whatever, but hear me on this and I stand on it: no scripture you post is going to change my mind. First let me give you a definition of a snob.
• Someone who looks down on others.
• A person regarded as arrogant and annoying.
• One who tends to patronize, rebuff, or ignore people regarded as social inferiors and imitate, admire, or seek association with people regarded as social superiors.
• One who affects an offensive air of self-satisfied superiority in matters of taste or intellect.
• An admirer and cultivator of people with high social status who disdains those considered inferior.
• Some who disdains people considered to have inferior knowledge or tastes.
Just the first definition alone, how are you as a Christians going to draw others to Christ if nobody wants to be bothered with your snobbish self??? Say what you will. You are not God. He is sovereign and can do whatever He wants. Your assignment on earth is not to walk around and think you are God but to draw others to Him, to be a mouthpiece for Him, to be an ambassador for Him, etc. Being looked at as a snob and talked about for not having time to acknowledge others will allow none of the above mention to happen!

Me speak for GOD? Me? ha! He can speak for himself. He don’t need me.
Life has shown me that we are guilty of just about almost ever sin imaginable. when we think we’re being humble it might just be self righteousness. Then if we tell someone the truth and it hurts we might just be saying what God intended. (Remember the woman in adultery?) Ghetto translation= “What you talkin bout Willis? That woman evennn ain’t yours)
Most of us live in and out of a state of sin of some sort. Some of us have temper issues, others obedience to our husband issues. Then some just got too much mouth. You feel my drift sis?
What we all seen to do is judge others differently than we do ourselves.
We still cool Aunt Bee? (Excuse me while I go rofl)

John, I’m thinking maybe you have A.D.D. I just can’t connect your comments to the comments posted before yours. I assume, when you are commenting, you are referring to what ohers have said. So with that said, ok! Whatever… I can’t follow you, so I won’t try to follow up your comments. Did I confuse you?
June 30th, 2008 at 9:06 pm
Yeah you did……but you seem to be only speaking with the tools you have so when you get unconfused then you’ll understand that I’m not confused, nor am I nornal. Between you and Tom I’m not sure which one of you needs to be on my couch first. Maybe ladies first???
June 30th, 2008 at 9:27 pm
I guess I would call that kinda coldhearted, but I also understand. The guy can’t go to a restaurant, a movie, take his kids to an amusement park without being overrun by adoring fans. Maybe if the kid had thrown the disposale camera at M.J. rather than breaking it on the ground……we would really know just how coldhearted MJ might be.

Shirley The Lord himself musta sent you to save me cause so far I can’t get over to the otherside. The man is hounded. Has to have security just to go out and eat with his family.
I think sometimes people can’t COMPREHEND beyond their own life experience, which is obviously the case here.
Imagine someone shining a light in your window at 3 am trying to get a picture or being followed all day and night everywhere you go. Neither Tom nor Kathy would appreciated that yet both can’t see the aggrevation.
What we need is a mirale. Someone who can make the blind see…….

For the record. I have add, abc, efg and xyz….
July 1st, 2008 at 10:01 am
You obviously have a problem reading. I didn’t say I know what it is like to be Michael Jordan and I didn’t say I don’t understand what he goes through. I don’t worship no man so I wouldn’t be all over him anyway – I’ve had my chance to try to get an autograph from him and I didn’t even try. The main thing I’ve been stressing is this: just because someone is a great basketball player doesn’t make them a role model or a great person. Nobody said Mike needed to take a picture with the kid except people who expect more from athletes and superstars. The last time I checked, they are people too and have the same problems we do. Their problems are probably magnified – mo money mo problems!
