If You Can’t Stand the Heat, Get Out of Alaska!

Written by: Kim Sawyer

Oh Boy! I didn’t expect this from Sarah so soon, did you? Wow! When I heard the news yesterday, I was like, What?!!!! Not Mrs. Palin…not the lady who loved being in the spotlight during her run for president. But then, I stopped and thought….Ahhhh. She’s getting ready for 2012.

Now, she didn’t say why she was resigning, other than the fact that she said she wanted to make a “positive change outside government.” In addition, she said her family helped her make the decision to resign when she said she asked them, “Hey, you want me to make a positive difference and fight for all our children’s future from outside the governor’s office?” and they all gave a resounding yes! Hmmmm, what could she possibly mean? Here’s what I got from it – she’s going to run for president in 2012.

Even though Palin and John McCain failed in their quest for president and vice-president, Palin has still been in the news. Her spat with David Letterman kept in her the news and recently, an article in Vanity Fair cites nameless campaign aides who informed they questioned if Palin was ever really prepared for the presidency. It really amazes me how her name continuously remains newsworthy. Why is that?

I think Sarah Palin has a chance at the presidency in 2012. Not because she’s smart or equipped to be run the United States of America, but because she has a huge following and people actually like her, for whatever reason. Not to mention that some people just want President Obama out of the office, at all costs!

Anyway, I think Sarah Palin is getting ready to prepare herself for the run of her life! What do you think?

  1. Tom Sawyer Says:

First of all, the fact that Sarah Palin is still news is totally ridiculous. If it wasn’t for how she looks we may not ever have known who she is – that is being realistic, not sexually biased. She was, and still is, obviously not ready to be the vice-president, but her looks were mentioned on more than one occasion. Yes, I know we are that shallow and if it is verbalized maybe it will change. In my (dream) world, being attractive only matters when you are persuing a relationship.

Second, I don’t necessarily think her end-game is running for president. I would give it a 50/50 chance that she becomes a Limbaugh/Oprah hybrid and cashes in big. It makes $ense for her family and it could also be what she does to gain momentum for a presidential run.

Some reports also mentioned (not in these words) that being in Alaska has the potential to hold her back since it is somewhat isolated. If she moves to the lower 48 in the near future, that line of thinking may have some merit.

I will give her this: she is entertaining. Everytime she opens her mouth, tell me you aren’t thinking, “What is she going to say now?”

This whole situation caught me off guard as well. Like Tom said I’m not convinced her motivations are for the presidency but I could be wrong. I hadn’t thought about her moving into the lower 48 and taking the path of a Mike Huckabee (tv show/commentator) or something like that.

In regards to your last statement Tom. I’m sorry but Biden has already quadrupled the verbal gaffes of Palin. She’s said some stupid things but not nearly as regular or systematic as Biden. Biden is a gaffe machine; better yet, a gaffe factory. He’s great. I thought I’d hate the guy but he’s some great comedy relief.

Ryan, I agree with you about Biden. Not to be too crude or negative, but would you rather have someone who makes idiotic statements, and has no experience, to be one heartbeat away from running the country or someone with experience who makes idiotic statements? I will take the experienced idiot behind a somewhat young/healthy man.
