Welcome Back, Whitney!

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Check out Ms. Whitney Houston’s new album cover.  Let me be one of the first to say, “It’s about time!”  Whitney Houston is my favorite female singer of all time.  Can I just say, “I love me some Whitney!”  Talk about a woman with an amazing voice!  Oh my goodness!  I am so excited that she is getting ready to release her new album.  And let’s not forget to mention how great she looks!  Okay, the album cover may be a little airbrushed (her thighs are not that thick), but nevertheless, she looks healthy and great.  I am not one who advocates divorce, but it seems that her divorce from Bobby Brown was for her good.  I can’t wait to hear her new album (I guess I’m showing my age by saying album instead of CD, but WHATEVER!).

Okay, I’m gushing just like a fan, but so what!  Oh, what wonderful news this is!  I won’t even delve into her past crack habit because you know what?  It doesn’t matter!  I always knew she would make a comeback simply because this lady has more talent on her worst day than alot of the other well-known singers have on their best day (e.g. Beyonce, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilara, etc.)  Don’t get mad at me for telling the truth!  Join me in my celebration of the return of Whitney Houston!  Can’t you just feel my joy?!!!!  I would love to hear how you feel about Whitney.

Our Prayers Are With Jennifer Hudson….

Monday, October 27th, 2008

Jennifer Hudson I’m sure you all have heard about the tragedy that has happened to Jennifer Hudson and her family. Just to briefly recap, her mother and brother were killed this weekend by her sister’s husband and her 7-year-old nephew went missing. There was hope that Jennifer’s nephew would be found alive. It is with regret that we report his body was discovered today in an abandoned SUV. Again, our prayers are with Jennifer Hudson and her family.

I Have A Table Dance For You!

Friday, October 24th, 2008

You may or may not have seen this video.  There are numerous remixes on YouTube and the original have received almost 1.5 million views in about two weeks!  I inserted the original below because I wanted you to see the whole thing.  I was actually sent a shorter version that had the gospel song “We Fall Down” at the end of it, but the original is good.

Of course, she is going to fall.  If you want to cut right to the chase I think you to the 2:28 mark, but there is something funny about the beginning to me.  If she knew the song, or sang something recognizable, she doesn’t have a bad voice.  But the fall is the main attraction here.  Hey, at least she is cheerful at the beginning and cheerful at the end!

Are You A Jealous Person?

Monday, October 13th, 2008

I have to admit to being a little jealous right now.

I recently mentioned some comments from www.sodahead.com.  I think that site is pretty good, but I’ve found one I like better.  Jealousbrother is all about comparison and choosing sides.  The tag line is, “Disagreeing has never been so much fun.”  You had me at “Disagreeing!”

Political opinion is very popular right now since the election is coming up, but when the election is over we will still have debates, arguments and disagreements.  What will we do then?  You can go to Jealousbrother and see what others think.

An example of a “Rivalry” (that is what it is called on the site) is Sarah Palin versus Oprah Winfrey.  It is simple - if Palin becomes the vice-president, who will be the most powerful woman in the United states.  In my opinion, Palin will become the most powerful woman in the United States.  I think that would be true as sad as it may sound.

I could go on, but I think you get the drift.  Go check it out…but come back here too!

Do You Know Where Gabon Is?

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

Where can you find the following:

  • One Asian guy
  • One Old guy
  • One black woman
  • One, two, or three women who some would consider “hot”
  • Possibly and probably one homosexual person
  • One black guy
  • At least one set of fake breasts
  • One old woman

You can find all of that in Gabon.  You may be wondering where Gabon is right? I looked it up on Wikipedia and got the following:

Gabon (pronounced /g??b?n/ or /ga?bõ/ in French) is a country in west central Africa sharing borders with Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, Republic of the Congo and the Gulf of Guinea. The capital and largest city is Libreville. Since its independence from France on August 17, 1960, the Republic has been ruled by two presidents. In the early 1990s, Gabon introduced a multi party system and a new democratic constitutionnatural resources, and foreign private investment have helped make Gabon one of the most prosperous countries in the region, with the highest HDI in Sub-Saharan Africa. that allowed for a more transparent electoral process and reformed many governmental institutions. A small population (less than two million), abundant natural resources, and foreign private investment have helped make Gabon one of the most prosperous countries in the region, with the highest HDI in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Besides all that, Gabon is where you will find the latest cast of Survivor.  Yes, it has lost some of its luster over the years due, in my opinion, to how predictable it is.  Go to any town/city in the US and randomly pick 18 people.  Are they really going to fit that list above?  We understand reality TV (RTV so I don’t have to keep typing it) wants to hit several demographics, but how about just randomly picking some people who will make for an interesting show?

Survivor is probably the third big RTV show, assuming you think Who Wants To Be a Millionaire Qualifies after the Real World.  What is the state of RTV?  Are we ready to move away from this genre?  If we did, what would be left on TV?

More Survivor stuff to come.

R. Kelly Finally Speaks!

Friday, September 19th, 2008

It took six years for R. Kelly to “clear” his name.  On Tuesday, September 16, 2008, he chose to sit down with BET and discuss his trial and his acquittal.  Kelly said he is relieved that the trial is over and that his upcoming album would feature less of the sexually charged material that has come to define his multi-platinum career.  Kelly states, “I’m really trying to make this album a little bit different.” he said. “Take a little bit of the edge off, you know? And you know, clean up a few lyrics if I can, you know?

The 40-year-old performer was acquitted in Chicago in June of multiple child pornography charges. The verdict ended a six-year saga that began when a videotape surfaced of a man looking like Kelly having sex with a girl believed to be as young as 13. Kelly denied he was the man in the videotape, and the girl in the video never testified.  When asked if he likes teenage girls, Kelly replied, “When you say teenage, how -how old are we talkin’ …19?” “I have some 19-year-old friends,” he added. “But I don’t like anybody illegal, if that’s what we’re talking about …underage.”

Kelly said he was worried that he might be convicted.  “But at the same time I was very prayerful,” he said. “Verdict day …I couldn’t describe it and I wouldn’t wish it on …if I had a worst enemy, which I don’t.” When the innocent verdicts were announced, Kelly said he felt relieved that he would be able to see his three children -two daughters and a son- once again.

Despite the charges Kelly faced, he still managed to maintain one of the most successful careers of any artist, notching several platinum albums and hits during that period. His album, 12 Play 4th Quarter is scheduled for the fall.

The Most Indecent Proposal

Monday, September 15th, 2008

OK let’s start this week out with a bang.  We have been finding some things that are downright appalling and this one is right up there!

Do you know who Natalie Dillon - this may not be her real name - is?  While doing some things around the house last night, we had the TV on one of those weekly entertainment/news shows and we were introduced to Natalie.  Hello, nice to meet you Natalie.

Natalie is running an auction which is pretty normal these days.  Now that I think about it, I have a cell phone I want to sell on EBay.  But I digress.  Natalie’s auction was rejected on EBay so she had to go elsewhere to hold her auction.  She chose the Moonlight Bunny Ranch as the location.  I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of it, but the Moonlight Bunny Ranch is a brothel in Nevada.  It is a legal house of prostitution - another story all together.  It is the perfect place for Natalie’s auction.

Natalie is auctioning off her virginity.  Yes, you read that right.  The highest bidder gets to be her first sex partner.  To think, some people think strippers have low moral values.  Here is what an article I found on the Internet said about this:

The woman, who has a degree in Women’s studies, wants the cash to fund a masters degree in “marriage and family therapy”. How many families will want therapy from someone who’s happy to auction their virginity remains to be seen. The student told a TV station:

“I don’t think auctioning my virginity will solve all my problems, but it will create some financial stability. I’m ready for the controversy, I know it will come along. I’m ready to do this. We live in a capitalist society. Why shouldn’t I be allowed to capitalize on my virginity?”

Wow!

Has our society really got to the point where people think it is worth it to “capitalize” on the fact that they are a virgin?

She hopes to make around $1 million dollars for the auction.  I don’t know about you, but if I had some money - that Bill Gates or Oprah money - I would make sure I bid and won this auction.  I would win the auction, give her the money and instead of taking her virginity I would give her a swift kick in the pants!

Just when you think you’ve seen how low a human being can go…
