A Penny For Your Thoughts…..

If you remember, last week we started something new called “Question of the Day.” After thinking about it more, I thought we should rename it to something with a little bit more zing. So, now Question of the Day is called “A Penny For Your Thoughts…” So, on to today’s topic:
As I did my usual thing today (surfing the web), I came across an article about a man who was shot 3 times because he was wearing an Obama T-shirt. This happened in London and the man who was shot was Black and the assailant was a White man. The Black man said the White man shouted, “I f***ing hate n*****s.” Fortunately, the gun was not real –it was a gas-powered ball-bearing pistol. But still! To think it’s gotten to the point where someone could get shot for voicing their opinion by wearing a T-shirt! So, here’s my 2 questions of the day to you:
What if someone took it to another level and began shooting people with real guns for supporting Obama just because he is Black? Would you still show your support by wearing a T-shirt, button, etc.?

Wow! The white guy in this story isn’t very smart. If he was, he would have known that all he needed to do is wait until Obama gets into office! His presidency will be a kick in the pants for many African, Afro, Negro, Black Americans.
After that, all cries of “racism” will fall on deaf ears. Why? If this individual can make it to the highest office in the land (facing the same “racism” as the rest of the Blacks) and not complain, then what does any African American have to complain about? You or I may not think this way, but maybe the rest of America (and perhaps the world) does! So, prepare to shut the H-E-L-L up!
Not to mention, the financial crisis. People will have to do more to impress their bosses and hold their jobs. This may mean that people will have to take more crap in the work place. Perhaps, one may hear the occasional N*gger hurled in their direction. If so, do you complain or do you keep your job so you and your family can eat. Either way, it looks like the uppity Negro is about to be less uppity. Let’s talk about real issues like starting business!

Interesting comment. Especially the part about not being able to complain about racism if Obama is elected. I understand your concept, but just because a Black man gets elected to the highest office in America does not mean racism is automatically eradicated.

As I’ve stated, (and I agree with you) WE may not think that way. Ask yourself this question:
Since when have WE been thinking the same as others?
Think about your co-workers. Do they preceive reality the same as you? Or, are most the type that think that if they can get away with something they will do it?

Hmmm. What you’ve stated is definitely thought-provoking, I do believe some people will think that way. Hopefully, it’s a small percentage (which is probably wishful thinking on my part),
